Bill,
I can't believe that they haven't asked you and Leonard to be in the new Star Trek film in some manner. Why wouldn't they want to utilize all of your and Leonard's experience and make this new film the best Star Trek film since The Undiscovered Country? Who knows Captain Kirk better than you? It wont be Star Trek for me without you in it sir. No one could ever replace you as Captain James Kirk. Best wishes,TK

I also posted this on ShatnerVision, but I figured here wouldn't hurt either.
There isn't much information on the IMDB site. No cast up, people have posted pictures of the what the Enterprise is going to look like. Gossip on who the "new" Captain Kirk is going to be. Won't be the same without you. People thought that Matt more... Damon would be the sure catch. Patton Oswalt heard that Ryan Gosling wants to play the part. I think he'd be better than Damon. I guess they want the movie to be released in December '08. I don't think it'll be happening if they don't have a cast by now. Hope that helps you out! Now I'm in the mood to watch some Wrath Of Khan. -Caitlin

If I may be so bold to suggest... Perhaps it is time to allow the make-believe future to catch up with our very real present. We have a lot of the technology available (side from beaming... and who needs their molecules scrambled anyways?). Before we can move into that "ideal" future that everyone desires, we need to solve the present issues. There are still people who are hungry, still people who have no place to sleep, and if I may add, NO ONE is safe right now. There is way too much violence all around us.
The only reason Star Trek stays in a futuristic mode is because, no one can answer the obvious question, "How do we bring about the earthly peace necessary to get from here to there?"
OK, I am ducking now. Fire away! (smiles)

I WAS SEARCHING AROUND ON SOME MOVIE SITES AND FOUND SOME INFORMATION THAT, HOPEFULLY, SHOULD BE HELPFUL TO YOU IN YOUR SEARCH. STAR TREK ELEVEN IS SLATED TO OPEN SOMETIME AROUND DECEMBER 25, 2008, AND KIRK IS SUPPOSEDLY PLAYED BY MATT DAMON. PERSONALLY, I BELIEVE THAT EWAN MACGREGOR SHOULD BE CASTED, BUT THAT IS BECAUSE HE LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE THE YOUNG KIRK (BIG FISH) AND I BELIEVE ANYONE WHO WATCHES IT WILL BELIEVE ME AND AGREE WITH WHAT I AM SAYING...OR, YOU, MR. SHATNER, HAVE ALL RIGHTS TO PLAY KIRK...
