older and one younger.
15. LtColKiraNerys asks: If you were given the chance, would
you work with Roy Scheider or any of the seaQuest DSV cast again?
Bill answers: Yes, I would. Roy is a wonderful actor and
great guy.
16. Racetracker asks: I would just ask for an occasional dog
or horse story.
Bill answers: A good dog story: I thought I lost both
my dogs one day recently. Elizabeth and I were desperate and went searching
everywhere – we slogged through mud, gardens, homes, but couldn’t
find them. Then we got into my car and went on the highway to see if we could
find them. After a while, we went back to the stable where we had been earlier
in the day – and found them both lying in the sun as though nothing were
wrong. Relief and annoyance all flooded together.
17. Early21Century asks: Who is your best friend and confidant
apart from your family and Leonard?
Bill answers: Truly, my wife is. I know she won’t
sell the story to the tabloids.
18. Yentamyrl asks: What do you, an actor, look for in a director?
Bill answers: A director, rather than improving
your skills, has a point of view of the story. It’s the actor’s
job to fulfill that point of view. So you look for a director that has a vision.
19. IndevDave asks: In retrospect, would you have rather avoided
the Kirk roll altogether and had a “normal” acting career?
Bill answers: Absolutely not. Star Trek is a
wonderful series, a great part for me, and we’re talking today because
of Star Trek.
20. VulcanVeg asks: Which side did [did] you identify with
more: Pro-War (supporting the Bush administration) or Anti-War (opposing the
Bush administration)?
Bill answers: We’re in a war against terrorists

guess. We’re in this terrible experiment together.
21. Iuyht asks: Have you ever learned anything from [the many
famous people] you have worked with or from other people you have worked with?
Bill answers: I believe you learn from everyone

Bill answers: DeForest was a really good friend.
I was heartbroken.
23. Mara asks: What is your fondest memory of DeForest Kelley?
Bill answers: The nights we spent together filming
one of the movies. It was just he and I and we spent many an hour talking about
the things people talk about late at night.
24. RackAttack asks: Have [rumors of discord among the cast]
made you feel sad or heartbroken at any time in your career?
Bill answers: Several of the other actors have
voiced hard feelings towards me. I never understood why and I’ve always
sought to smooth things over.
25. @ppy asks: Do you still work with Leonard? If so, what
can we look forward to next?
Bill answers: I work with Leonard every opportunity
I have because I truly love him. I think the near future will bring another
Priceline commercial.
26. Bigal asks: Do you still keep in contact with [Majel Rodenberry]?
Bill answers: No, I haven’t spoken to her
in quite some time.
27. Ebbie58 asks: If you could remake any TV show or movie
that you have appeared in which one would it be and why?
Bill answers: Let’s see now…that
would be everything I can think of. I always feel like I could do it better.
28. Adams asks: Do you plan to retire from acting as Lenny
has, or what do you see yourself doing in the next ten years?
Bill answers: I can’t see myself retiring.
I’m having too much fun.
29. Ariel32 asks: Do you believe that the dreams we dream
at night may sometimes have special meaning or teach us things that we are not
aware of during waking time? Do you ever remember your dreams?
Bill answers: I think dreams do having meaning
although it is questionable exactly what that is. I find it difficult to remember
any of mine, though.
30. coteyankee asks: Did Olivier inspire you in your quest

Bill answers: Gratitude.
32. Thecaptain, Flint, and DarthDavid
all ask: What do you think the chances are of seeing Kirk back in the
next movie (if there is one) or on “Enterprise?”
Bill answers: I think the chances are fair, at
least as far as “Enterprise” is concerned. I’d certainly be
willing to entertain the idea.
33. Jel asks: If you could pick any time period to visit (past
or future) what would you pick?
Bill answers: I’d like to see the future.
It’s unknown whereas the past has a history.
34. ScooterMcCrae asks: Have you thought about returning to
the world of Shakespeare and performing as King Lear?
Bill answers: I’ve thought of it. Then
I sat down and had a good talk with myself and decided to get a hold of myself.

35. BHawkes asks: I enjoyed reading your two [Mars] books,
“Man O’War” and Law O’War…are you planning to
write more [Mars universe] books or had you planned to keep these books as a
duology?
Bill answers: Unless I can sell them as movies
or TV shows then they will remain a duology.
