I?ve been going at my usual busy pace lately. These last weeks have been filled with work on ?The Practice,? and ?Miss Congeniality Two.? I?ve also completed work for The Hollywood Charity Horse Show and am preparing for another charitable event soon ? our annual Paintball event.
 |
| I?ve also just finished a Rose Bowl Special that I?ll be hosting and am preparing for several horse shows that will happen this summer. Why, you may ask, am I running so hard? It?s because I have the opportunity. I am wonderfully challenged by my work on ?The Practice? and the up-coming ?Fleet Street? and I also have the ability to raise money for people in need. I don?t want to waste either opportunity. I think of this as a temporarily hectic schedule ? on the other hand, I seem to have been saying that for most of my life. |

Hi Bill,
as a long term fan of Star Trek unfortunately i was very late in joining williamshatner.com and the fan club but I am glad I made it!
It s amazing to me how much activities You are still doin and I hope a lot will come. First thing after registering and getting some infos about this site was ordering Your Mind Meld video ( then had to buy new VCR capable of NTSC ;-) ) and I must say not only You but Leonard as well is a very sympathetic person, very honest (to himself, too) I d love to meet You and him one day but it would be better to come here to Germany because it s not so easy getting to the States for me right now! (financial things Ya know ;-) )!
but thanks for all the movies You and the ST crews gave us and THANKS for all the charity things You do!
I really appreciate it and when theres a bit more money or even a job left for me again I will contribute to one of these charities too!
You are a very nice guy and hopefully one day I can shake hands personally with You!
keep goin like You did all these years!!!
bye

Hi, Bill! It's great to see that you're still keeping busy doing the things you love! I happened to catch "Miss Congeniality" the other night and it was pretty funny. But without a doubt the best line was when you said, "I didn't have a gun...my ancestors were Quakers" cracked me up! :-D I've never watched "The Practice" before but maybe I finally have a reason to ;-) It's wonderful to see that you're still with the many charities you participate in. I happen to love horses very much too and sometimes I'd rather have a horse than a car :-D By the way, the latest Priceline.com commerical you did with Leonard was great! The look on your face when he closes the door on you is priceless (no pun intended). I'm glad to see you still working and enjoying life ? you are an excellent role model for us all and I have been a fan my entire life. Have a WONDERFUL Father's Day this weekend! Take care...

I never really do this, but Bill's query - Why do I do it? grabbed my attention because I was just pondering the same question about myself. I saw a similarity and just had to respond. I know I do too much. I am 59, have thirteen grandchildren, work full time for an environmental agency, teach part time for an online school and also teach Yoga. I think of all this as tempoary, too. It's just that I can't seem to stop. I know that all my jobs are helping out - the environment, people who want to change their lives, and people who want to help their bodies out by strengthening and stretching. I just hope that I can take a rest sometime soon. Thanks for listening.

Great job though, and it's great to see anyone help so many charities.
Don't forget to take time for YOU though, no matter how much you enjoy what you're doing, and no matter that you can handle the busy hectic lifestyle, everyone needs time for themselves. Time to relax, time to reflect...

I have been a fan for years and have had the great honor of meeting you and Mr. Nimoy. But this is also a post of thanks. About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer and my family was told to get ready for a funeral. But believe me when I say that you and the rest of the Starship Enterprise gave me the courage to keep going. My hope started with The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock and The Voyage Home. I never thought a movie and the people in it could help someone beat cancer but you all did it! You have earned my respect not only by being Capt. James T. Kirk the man who could over come anything but as a true human being that cares deeply for his fellowman. I didn't mean to get carried away but I just wanted you to know. I am now cancer free going to school to be a Crime Scene Investigator but I am going to be celebrating my 44th birthday and proud of it. I too have a love of horses. I have had one in my life and he was truely a friend. Maybe next year I can get to come to your charity horse show. Until next time.....The Adventure Continues....Lorrie

Hello Mr. Shatner!
I have always wondered about the insignia on your green dress uniform on ST TOS. It looks like a sylized maple leaf, like the kind that was on our Canadian money for the 1967 centennial. Was it patterned after that, because that's what it reminds me of. I thought it might have been your own little comment,as you are Canadian. Thanks!

Hi Mr. Shatner,
My first time to your site and just read your post. Your website is very well done here. I hope that you are not overdoing it, but you still are quite an inspiration you know. You sound like you are living life to its fullest. You have the power to do many things as a star and it sounds like you have made great choices with that.
My mother and I went to Las Vegas Hilton about two months ago. It has the Star Trek Experience, mainly STNG stuff. We did one of those DVD's where you get to be in a movie on the original series. It was so much fun getting to be in a movie with you. And it was very hard work to read off those lines at the right time, let me tell you. I am no actress. But in the end, I had this film to keep with my mom and me and Star Trek, something I'm always going to have, always going to cherish. You're a part of so many happy memories that you probably don't even know about.
I hope in your busy schedule you get to all the things you want to do in life.
Love and Blessings to you and yours, Lori

Good Evening Mr Shatner
Another very late joiner to your site - glad I found it at last.
Can't believe I have been a fan since around 10 years old and I am now nearly 42! I have just finished reading Get A Life for the second time and spent the evening trying to find all the websites you listed - unfortunately they're all gone - so I searched for Captain Kirk and found here!
Keep going - you sound like my parents - I have to book early just to see them too! Maybe it is an age thing - but why should you stop - as long as you are enjoying it all. It is a shame a lot of the stuff you are doing won't reach the screens of UK - and I live in Portugal now and only get half what the UK gets - I would love to see some of the ads mentioned - especially with Leonard. But probably no chance!
Well bye for now - just Live Long and Prosper - love you heaps and thanks for all the inspiration

I wanted to ask you one question at the last convention and I was too shy; but I wonder if you could answer it now?
