What the H-E- double hockey sticks do they think we are going to pay that price for gas with?? I am picking up cans and saving pennies(and dimes, quarters and nickles too!) for gas and I just cannot afford that.
THey can sure raise gas high when it goes over $102. a barrel as it did today, for crude oil but when it goes back down it takes them forever to take the price back down that fast....
What is your gas price where you live right now? It will be $4.00 a gallon by end of March.....
Here in North Central Illinois in my town it's $3.23 a gallon right now.

You made a great point with the price per barrel dropping and the price at the pump remaining the same!
If demand would drop worldwide, so would the price.
For what it's worth, the price per gallon is a lot cheaper than the price of perfume or booze. Man, I'd love to get a gallon of booze for 3 bucks!!
I go to a grocery store and use their discounted gas. I can still get it for just under 3 bucks, but that's with a 20 cent per gallon discount. |

Believe me, if you need your car, you'll find a way to pay for your gas. In Sweden we are currently paying $7.34/gallon. In an ideal world we would have found alternatives to gas a long time ago.

About the same here in Australia:)
Mind our wages are so much higher than the US so I guess that the difference, when it comes to struggling.

Today, in Montreal, the average gas price is $1.20 a litre
do the math and that's about $4 a gallon.
(don't get me started on Imperial measure vs Metric vs American...)

Yep, us USA'ers don't realize how expensive gasoline is in other countries.
Fortunately, I do, having traveled to Europe and Scandanavia recently.
Here the lowest is $3.29 with high test at $3.50 per gallon.....for the moment. |

$3.55 Regular Low Grade...so the average person works an Hour,
or more, to get to work, 3 hours for IRS and an hour for trip home...that gives you 3 hours of take home pay...LOVELY |

Not quite at 3 bucks over here. Probably'll be climbing up as the summer months start up. That's why we never go anywhere. At least we're a little bit better off then the rest of the country where the gas prices are concerned. But the earning wages are lower here so I guess we're feeling the bite too. |

Ouch Paul , that probably takes a chunk out of your pay every time you fill up.
We don't go much any where right now as I still havent been released to drive but people take me places in my car when I do need to go some where. I am trying to get released back to driving but no word yet.

Our work had to start a gas account. B/c we have to travel all over (around 3,000 miles per month!) and we couldn't do it otherwise.
Even though I don't do nearly that amount of traveling (only about 1,500 per month). Without it, I wouldn't be able to work my job. Well, my main job, I have lots of "jobs" and some of them are more stationary, thank goodness!
Gas is about $3.40 here. Not awful, but working towards it. Min wage, however, is $5.25....
3% inflation my rear end! |

| In NY last week petrol in Jess' town was $3.39 (& 9/10)! and a few miles down the road it was $3.15. Prices changed daily so we never knew how much we'd be paying. |

The minimum wage for Washington is currently $8.07 per hour for workers over 16, and $6.86 per hour for those under 16. This wage took effect on January 1, 2008. Before that, Washington's minimum wage was $7.93 per hour. Washington has the highest minimum wage rate of anywhere in the US. |

Wash.'s minimum wage equals Okla.'s average above miminum wage salery! Lord help us over here if it climbs that high! Our higher saleries had better hike up if that ever happens. My husband makes darn good money and I've a part time job but it's still a struggle every week. I was just thinking about that today as I was making the kids lunches. I'm making lunches every morning and the same stuff for supper every week to make ends meet. Something's got to give! Either the cost of living, the gas prices, or my sanity....I'm voting on my sanity first |

"Super" as in the octane rating or "super" as in the gas filling experience?
Has anyone ever handled a gas pump and had an unpleasant surprise? The other day, I grabbed a gas pump and it was all slimy! Man, that was disgusting!
I've been trying to hire some kids out of college and some of 'em are turning their nose up at $14.00 per hour!
BWW has a good point with exact price including the 9/10ths!! |

Thanks for the support! I was sort of startled by some of their responses. "Well, I want to focus on networking" (We DO have a little network) or "I can't start until 9:00". One guy said he wasn't going to travel to Philly (less than 2 hours, one way).
I started formally working and paying taxes in 1978 and I made $2.35 an hour.
It's wild, you don't even need a H.S. Diploma and you can start at the local FedEx terminal, part-time, no bennies, 3rd shift for $12.00/hr. I know FedEx, you'll get 40 hours and then some if you're a good worker. Just no bennies. But if you're young.... |

LOL!!! That would be pretty cool wouldn't it...:)Only one show a day as my body won't take much of that.....
Well, when you have 5 fuzzies (Ferrets) and one of them gets loose you have to be quick and do some comtorting to catch one when they get out and go under the furniture or the bed and they run out & ya gotta grab them....or when one of my Leopard Geckos we had got out they were a pain to catch as you had to make sure you didn't knock off thier tail when you picked them up.

Actually spiders do like a little hop and grab their food. Tarantulas in the petshop just kind of run, hop & grab their crickets.
Garden Spiders actually jump on thier food then spin about 20 inches of webbing on them so they won't get away.
THey were talking about gas prices going up on the White House Press conference and President Bush said that was the first he had been notified of it as none of the people saying gas was going up that high had told him about their predictions.. He was NOT happy a bout it. He wants a full report about it like now.

Geez sounds like they are being too nit picky about thier work and thier hours. When I could work I did what I was told and was HAPPY to have any job at the time. In these kinds of times being offered any kind of job would be great! I had a job when I was 17 and I worked for a year at a horse farm being the #1 poop shoveler and stall cleaner. I also fed and watered 16 horses. It was a "crappy" job but it was a job and I had money of my own!
